Give to the Max Day - Nov 16th

We're excited to let you know we are part of the Give to the Max Day nonprofit donation day tomorrow - November 16, 2010.

As many of you know, this past year was the Foundation's first full year of operation. We successfully completed a pilot Safe Driving program for teens with type 1 diabetes. Both teen-participant and their parents gave the program high marks and have encouraged us to expand the program in 2011. So that's what we intend to do. While there are other programs and events we will start to pursue as 2011 proceeds, our Executive and Advisory Boards have given their approval for plans for a 2011 safe driver program for teens with diabetes.

Because the activities of the pilot safe driver program took a great deal of time, Give to the Max Day in Minnesota will be our only formal fund raising program this year.

We also hope that if you are active with Twitter and Blog that you'll let your followers and friends know about our Foundation and request for donations via the Give to the Max Day program on Tuesday.

Type 1 (Juvenile) Diabetes is a life changing disease. There is no cure.

Diabetes is not merely a condition. It is disease with deadly consequences. November is Diabetes Month, a time to communicate stories about kids, teens and young adults living exception lives IN SPITE OF DIABETES. Stories about how they refused to let diabetes limit their lifestyles can be found at www.jdnolimits.org

There are many ways provide motivation and support these kids and teens. One way is to make a donation at www.jdnolimits.org. Your donation will go toward creating national programs that provide hands-on training to help these individuals safe.

Are YOU living with Type 1 Juvenile Diabetes?
Help us build our network of diabetic individuals in sports and active professions. Create a video showing how you live an active life style, even though you are living with diabetes. Send your video to michelle.schindler@jdnolimits.org. It may be shared on the JD No Limits YouTube page.
